About Us

Buying locally, and handmade is one of the best ways to encourage sustainability, and keep the creative culture alive in your community. The Artisans of WMASS, Inc. non-profit organization was built on this idea. Our artists work and live right here in the Pioneer Valley, the North Quabbin region, the Berkshires, and all the other creative-rich areas of Western Massachusetts. We offer a variety of quality products, fantastic educational opportunities, and collaborative events to everyone in western Mass.

Our creative work uses local materials whenever possible, and our creations are sold at local venues, shows, galleries and studios. We are also committed to opening up more opportunities for all artists in WMASS, thereby strengthening the local artisan community. We believe that by encouraging others in their work, show skills, sales and marketing, a stronger art community can be built. We have built a community of skillshares, workshops, gatherings, and events to boost the exposure and capability of small, creative businesses.

We welcome new members at all times, whether you are a potential artisan member or supporting member, http://www.artisansofwmass.com/how-to-join/ and are always looking for new collaborations between art advocating groups in western MA.  Whether you are an artist, a supporter, or a shop owner, we can work together to create a thriving local creative community.

Not only do we nurture our artists’ skills and business savvy, we encourage the public to learn from our artists including methods, mediums, and creativity.  We also encourage the public to shop locally within the creative population here in western MA.  If you need inspiring reasons to shop locally for birthdays, weddings, holidays, and special treats, check out our members’ gallery http://www.artisansofwmass.com/artisans/. You’ll be sure to find creative gifts from photography, ceramics, clothing, accessories, woodworking, jewelry, recycled and upcycled goods, glass and metal treasures.
