After years as a professional photographer working in photographic darkrooms, Amy became enchanted with the immediacy and freedom of making jewelry. Using skills and a sharp eye for design, she joyfully fabricates artful jewelry pieces.
Amy’s sunny studio is located in the artist-filled, historic village of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. Living and working a community which values creativity fuels her energy and imagination. Nature, sculpture, and other fine arts inform Amy’s work. Inspiration can come from a walk in the woods, a museum visit, or simply holding a bead. Contrast, both visual and textural, is an important element of Amy’s jewelry designs.
Amy uses sterling silver, niobium, copper, and gold-filled findings as well as a variety of materials: beach combed glass and pottery; precious and semi-precious stone; glass; crystal; shells; wampum, found objects; and any material that enhances her designs. Each jewelry piece is one-of-a-kind, never to be duplicated. In addition to earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets, Amy designs two distinct lines of pendants: Found Treasures Series and Woven Shapes Series. Jewelry pieces by Amy Love Designs are available at Young, Constantin, and Associates Gallery on Deerfield Street in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.
